What will the full bill be?

Request the total in writing, with separate amounts for visits, medicine, tests and recurring charges. Compare the same things.

Ask which price you are reading.

As of September 2026, list price, cash offers, discount cards, insured copays and government programmes can give different prices for the same medicine.a

A drug maker's published starting figure is its list price, which does not promise the amount on your bill.

Copay means the part of a covered charge paid by the patient.

Ask whether the quote assumes insurance or payment outside insurance. Get the product name and its form, pill or shot, in writing.

A September 2026 government listing shows a $199 cash offer for semaglutide (Ozempic) shots.

For prescriptions marked 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg, that price covers each of the first two monthly fills.a

These amounts identify the prescriptions included in the price offer; ask the clinician about the amount prescribed for you.

New patients in the US qualify for the offer if they are at least 18 and pay outside insurance, as of September 2026.

December 31, 2026 marks the end of the introductory offer.

After the first two fills, the listed monthly price is $349 for each prescription strength: 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg or 1 mg.

The listed monthly price for a 2 mg prescription is $499.a

Ask what sits outside that medicine price.

When a service quotes a membership fee, ask whether medicine is included or billed separately.

Request separate lines for the first visit, repeat visits, medicine, tests and delivery. Ask whether a membership charge continues between visits.

Ask what happens to each charge if the clinician does not prescribe, if insurance refuses to pay, or if you leave the service.

  • What is the full charge after the introductory offer?
  • Which costs are paid to someone else?
  • How do I end a recurring charge?

Read the next bill as carefully as the first.

Keep the renewal terms beside the quote. Ask what could change the medicine price and when the service will tell you.

As of September 2026, the Ozempic cash offer sits outside insurance and cannot be counted toward an insurance deductible.a

A deductible is the amount your plan makes you pay before its cover begins.

Ask your insurer to confirm how your proposed payment would be treated. Keep its answer with the quote.
